I am directed by Mr. Secretary

Harcourt to inform you that you have been

selected for appointment as a Cadet in the

Civil Service of Hong Kong with salary at the

rate of £225 per annum,on the conditions

specified in the enclosed printed paper

headed Hong Kong Cadetships and dated

September 1913 and subject to any Regulations

not inconsistent with that paper which may

from time to time be issued by the Government

of the Colony.

2.

You are to understand that your em-

ployment will be under the Government of the

Colony; that your emoluments will be paid

solely from the funds of the Colony; and that

the appointment will be subject to the Colonial

Regulations
